OLIVER KAHN FOUNDATION supports the worldwide establishment of Safe-Hubs in order to motivate and support socially disadvantaged children and young people with the power of football. Each centre is considered a safe place and has a football field and an educational facility. A coaching programme and coaches are provided to support young people in their personal development.
The coaching programme incorporates the fundamental humanistic ideas of a holistic education and upbringing and is based on the value code and the life of Oliver Kahn. Uniform quality standards, a common philosophy, continuous training of young people, monitoring of the coaching programme implementation, and evaluation of the progress ensure the quality assurance of the Safe-Hubs. They are required to sustainably empower socially disadvantaged young people.
Oliver Kahn Foundation was recognised by the government of Upper Bavaria on 04 July 2011. It is in particular committed to promoting development and education and to youth welfare.
Guided by the motto “Empowering young people”, it is the objective of the foundation to guide people, and in particular young people, to recognise, to define, to implement and to live perspectives, visions and goals. The foundation offers assistance to sustainably implement one’s own goals. To this end, the foundation develops its own programmes on a national and international level. It carries out projects and training courses and supports and promotes similar existing and new programmes of others, particularly on motivation, mental strength and dealing with defeats.
The objective of the foundation is realised by the following measures on a national and international level:
developing and carrying out programmes and projects, supporting and promoting programmes of tax-privileged entities or of public legal entities, cooperation with third parties, in particular with schools, universities, other foundations and other possible cooperation partners dealing with the foundation objectives, and publications.
The foundation may also provide financial or material resources to tax-privileged entities, institutions and foundations or to appropriate public authorities, if measures are promoted with the resources.
